Giving Thanks

We started off our holiday weekend on Wednesday, we met up with the Trapp's for dinner at the Spectrum. After dinner the boys went on the carousel, the boys were very well behaved so it was a nice reward.

Uncle Eric and Noah.....

On Thursday we woke up and had a big breakfast and then headed out to Temecula for dinner with my family. It was a great time and the boys really love playing with there cousins and having fun. Grandma Dayle even pulled out the china it was so nice! It almost made me wish that I had China to pull out, I guess I will just have to get a nice set of dishes.

The kids table

Ryder was in heaven, he wouldn't even look at the camera.

Never too early!

I have VERY strict rules about decorating for Christmas, always the weekend after Thanksgiving. I have always thought if you didn't wait you weren't THANKFUL.

BUT last week was a rough one, so I needed some cheering up and a little Christmas can go a long way! So Sunday night we popped in a movie and got down to business. It was so fun this year, Noah totally gets it all this year he wants to help and just thinks everything is so fun, this is the years many of our traditions finally come to life!!

Noah has like 15 first Christmas ornaments, no joke call it first Grandchild on all sides. It was funny everytime he picked up an ornament he was like oh it's my first Christmas it was too funny!

Jeff and I take a cheesy picture every year we just happened to be matchy that day....

We got a new shelf this weekend for Jeff's speakers....he has been dying to set up his surrond sound since the new floors back in February. You should have seen his face he was so happy to feel like a man again...his words not mine.
So I was happy to get a new shelf and have some more places to decorate...now I need more decorations for the mantle!

This will be my biggest challenge this season. With Noah and Sawyer there second Christmas they were older and just left the tree alone....not this guy we currently have no ornaments on the bottom. He has already broken 3 ornaments, luckily none were our good special ones!!

I can't believe that the holidays are already upon us! I love this time of year! Happy Thanksgiving to all out there! We are so blessed around here!!

Elf...

Last week Noah's preschool teacher showed this to us and I had to have it. I am all about Christmas traditions and this is one that I know we will just love.

If you are like us we have already threatened Santa is watching....yeah it is before Thanksgiving. Well with the elf you set him out and tell the kiddos that the elf is always watching even when Mommy and Daddy aren't in the room. He goes and reports to Santa every night (the parents move the elf every night and the kids find him in the morning) There is a cute story that comes with it.

Jeff ordered it on Amazon last week, I can't wait for it to get here so we can start a new tradition this year!!

This Week in Pictures

I am back from my crazy trip. At least for the day.

Besides all the crazy crazy things this week we did manage to have a little fun....
Sawyer our little crazy man loves the fake vampire teeth.....

We did manage a great day at Disneyland with Gavin, Lisa and Caitlin. It was not crowded or too hot. It was a great time! Me and Ry on It's a Small World.

After this ride Sawyer gave up his paci for a lollipop. It has been pretty good. He has stopped asking about it!

Today was Noah's last day of soccer. He really had a great time. The first few games were a little rocky. But a few weeks ago I told him to pretend the ball was Darth Vadar's head.....which totally worked and he has played much better since. Last week he even scored....it was for the wrong team but hey a goal is a goal and we celebrated just the same. It was so fun to have a few of our church friends on the team too!!! Thanks Sharks for an awesome season!!!

The truth is......

That's why I haven't blogged the last few days....kind of like that golden rule, if you can't say anything nice don't say anything at all.

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday. I don't think I can take anymore of this week.

Next week has to be better.....right??
Sorry for anyone who has talked or ran into me the last two days I have been crabby to say the least!!

Progress!?

So a few weeks back we gave back Sawyer's paci. We had good reasons. And it was good for the first few days and weeks. But for the last week all of the reasons have back fired and he has gone backwards. So I took it away, there is no point in him having it if he isn't behaving. So today while at Disneyland he wanted a sucker I told him if he threw it in the trash for good he could have a sucker. It took about 20 trash cans finally he threw it in. We will see how it goes tonight! He has asked a few times but nothing major! If we can make it through the first night we will be golden. Or so I hope!!! Wish us luck....I know I know I totally deserve it since I gave it back to him and all!!!

Thankful

Tonight for part of our family night we talked about being thankful and what we are thankful for. I had Jeff do the scripture he did one about Ammon of course that always ends in swords? So for our activity we cut out leaves and wrote down what we are thankful for. We then hung them up on our wall it was funny to hear the things the boys are grateful for. I was happy that our family made the list before disneyland, swords, star wars, pacifiers.

A few of out finished wall!

Trying to get a picture with the whole family it is a funny one! We are so very thankful for eachother!

A Special Visit

This afternoon I was sitting out with a few of our neighbors letting the kids ride bikes and play. Have I mentioned how much I love our little street, it is so awesome.

We saw a fire truck and a police car drive past our house down the street no lights were on but they were on there way somewhere.

A few minutes later they were leaving instead of just pulling out of our track they stopped in front of the house, they got out and said hi to all the kids and gave them fireman hats and stickers. It was so nice! The kids were all excited and felt very special.

We love our local heroes!!

Luckily I had my phone on me and was able to snap a few pictures!!

Spoiled!

Yesterday after Noah's soccer game Grandpa and Grandma offered to take the boys to ZOOMERS petting zoo down in San Juan. The boys had a great time here are a few pictures of their fun outing. Noah loved the guiena pigs. These boys are dying for a pet....mom is too.

It was great because Jeff and I got a lot of shopping done. It is amazing how easy it is to do with one kid...ah the good old days! No they are all good just different. Now poor Jeff is sicker than a dog with strep throat. Every two weeks somebody else gets it. I am so over being sick!!!!

I have a dream.....

In my dreams I would love to be....

A party planner

florist (did you see the new show un cut on TLC) amazing

photographer...this will be coming sooner rather than later classes and work shops start in January. I can't wait!

Cake decorator

Professional Scrapbooker

labor and delivery nurse too bad I would never make it through nursing school.

Martha Stewart....hey I said dreams.

I feel like I am on the search lately. I want a little something more a new hobby to fill my days. I feel like I am closing the baby chapters in my life. I will always be a mom first but I am realizing how fast the time goes bye and in a few years they will all be in school so these are a few ideas for my future!

Did I mention I just learned to post from iPhone! So awesome!

Because there are moments like these....

Being a Mom is a roller coaster of ups and downs. Hard days and fabulous days. this photo was a few weeks ago. Sawyer wanted to cuddle. He has been horribly hard lately, but just when I think I might loose it, he does the cutest, kindest thing, which reminds me that he has a pure little heart and yes we have some work to do, but it's not in vain and it will take work. I am so lucky to be here everyday to witness every moment!

Thoughts This Thursday....

(This pic has nothing to do with my post but hey it's cute!)
*My cold was nice enough to subside while I prepped for the party, but this morning oh boy was I feeling it!! (maybe that accounts for my overly sensitive mood?)

*I LOVED the weather today, too bad it never lasts but I am totally enjoying my sweater I got in SB a few weeks ago, seriously I may wear it EVERYDAY!!!

*I have been stalking my mailbox for the November Ensign. Does that make me a nerd? I am starting to wonder if I didn't realize that our subscriptions were up. Did you get yours? I can't help it I LOVE to read the conference talks, I need to see them visually. On a side note my most favorite conference experience was when I was a sophomore in college and on the Yearbook staff, I got to attend conference and sit in the press box....did you know they had one....oh yes they do but it is great they give you copies of the talks, the especially neat part was when they went off their written scripts and were lead by the spirit, such a powerful experience....anyway WAY off topic!!

*A pedicure cures all! Really it does! I love love love a pedicure!

*I am obsessed with headbands. I just learned online how to make the cutest fabric yo=yos and I can't wait to slap them on a headband.

*I am a little sad that all the Christmas stuff is up I feel like the retail industry has completely forgotten about the Thanksgiving holiday.....not that I don't love Christmas.

* I am loving our train table back in the toy room, fabulous the room is a mess but at least the front room is clean!

Okay that is enough of my random post. Happy Thursday everyone!

To my peeps......

I've said it before and I will say it again.....I have the very best friends! I am in awe of these great women. My friend/neighbor adopted a baby last week! What better way to celebrate than an impromptu girly girly shower. This is where the friends come in, from bringing chairs, desserts, bow stuff, buying the group gifts, making gorgeous blankets. I mean come on how did I get so lucky!!! You guys are AWESOME!!!

Here a few pictures before the party got started. How did I not get any of the actual shower.....not my finest paparazzi moment!

My mantel, I was so happy with the fall look, really has nothing to do with the shower, so onto to the good stuff.

I never knew I could find someone who appreciates a bow more than me until I met Charise, so when I found out it was a girl it was all about making "Savvy" some bows to take home......and it's true the BIGGER the better!

This was only my second name banner....I LOVE my cricut! And even better Charise took it home for the babies room!

The food, seriously THANKS! Bethany I want that pumpkin recipe! SOOO yummy! (and I don't LOVE pumpkin pie type stuff)

Thanks ladies for helping, offering to help and most of all letting me get SOME of my girl ideas on your new babies!!!

He WALKED!!!!

I am in crazy party mode.....did you know I LOVE parties! I do! They make me happy, if I wrote poems or songs I would write one. That is how happy they make me. Especially since tomorrow's festivities is a totally girly baby shower!!! Jeff is sure I have a disease. He is probably right I live for planning and throwing a party!!!

In other news......RYDER WALKED!!! He really walked. About fifty steps in total. But we are thrilled. Of course I took video! I will post tomorrow! I can't believe my "little" baby is getting so big!! It kills me!!

Uh-Oh

I remember when Sawyer started learning things faster than Noah did I was amazed but now with Ryder it is just ridiculous, he wants so bad to be like his big brothers!

Last night Noah came in and told Jeff and I that Ryder was standing on the oven, I figured he was talking about the play kitchen (something that happens daily) Then Jeff said to come look at our baby in the kitchen......

We had given the other two cookies for dessert and left them on the oven, apparently he wanted one too!

I can't believe how fast he is picking up on everything, in church he was playing with the star wars and making little whoosh (light saber sounds) like Noah and Sawyer do. Jeff and I were cracking up.

He's like a little sponge theses days picking up the good and the bad!

This is Halloween

Halloween is so much fun! I love that I have these cute boys to dress up, and especially love that I have a fun husband who is willing to get in on the fun!!!

We celebrated with a fun ward Trunk or Treat activity. I will admit I was a little annoyed at first that it was on Halloween but it was a ton of fun. And given the week of sickness we had around here it worked out well because the kids didn't even have ask to go out once we were home! Bonus for us! (Jeff had homework and I had 80 invites and 4 posters to make for RS)

My cute little Sawyer, he is such a fun/trying child. His nursery leader said it best today he is either Dr. Jekyll or Mr. Hyde. Sugar or Spice. Today was not one of his best days in nursery, Jeff and I have decided to spend our Sundays taking turns, I REFUSE to be the mother of the bully!

Captain Noah....he has been such a big help to me lately. He is so happy and sweet, he cares about people and loves to be around his friends. He tells me everyday I look pretty and that he loves me, it melts my heart every time! He is a great big brother and loves and protects them always!

I love my family!!

Mama and Son Pirates.....

My friend Lisa's little girl Caitlin. Lisa even added a bow to the cow costume!!! She is a girl after my own heart...I carried her around she is such a sweetie!!!

Noah and his friend Scotty from church and on his soccer team.

We had such a fun time! I can't wait for next year!

Today kicks of National Blog Month. So like last year I will be posting everyday in Nov. I loved it last year, I love looking back!!! You should join in too!!!
